PLACEHEBERG · PRACTICAL GUIDE

Install plugins on a Minecraft Paper server

Choose a compatible server, upload a plugin and check its startup from your client area.

Start with a compatible server

Paper plugins require a compatible Paper server. Vanilla does not load these plugins; Forge and Fabric use different extension systems. Check your selected server type and Minecraft version before downloading a file.

PlaceHeberg server types can require a minimum amount of memory. The configurator shows compatible plans. Keep additional headroom when planning several extensions.

Install and check your plugin

Back up your data before making changes. Download the .jar file from a trusted source and upload it to the server plugins directory using the file manager or SFTP. Restart the server to load it.

Check the console and logs: a plugin may require another dependency or version. The plugins command lists loaded plugins. Avoid keeping two versions of the same plugin in the directory.

Keep your server stable

Add extensions gradually and watch CPU and RAM usage during a representative play session. Review extensions and their settings before selecting a larger plan. Estimated player capacity depends on your configuration and world content.
